Shortly after the supposed death of Stephanie Brown, Cassandra moved to Bludhaven where she encountered several issues involving villains and and the person she wanted to make herself into. The blonde had been her only real friend, not a mentor or a parental figure, just a friend.
This friend showed Cass the true meaning of never backing down, because no matter who told her no, she just kept getting back up. And though the bat never said out loud how she admired this, it was and still is what drives her to continue fighting each night. Whether it be a near death fight or just contacting an old friend, she continues to think back to some silly yet uplifting quote the blonde would blurt out.
